Did you know?
Over 100,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant in the United States.
Every 8 minutes someone is added to the organ transplant waiting list.
13 people on average die every day waiting for a life-saving organ.
86% of patients waiting are in need of a kidney.
8 lives can be saved by just 1 person through organ donation.
75 people can receive tissue donations from a single donor.
My kidney transplant at 19 has more than doubled my time here on earth – it has afforded me the opportunity to mature into the woman I am today, to fall in love, get married to Noah and find my purpose in life. And my liver transplant has allowed me to continue to be with the ones I love and get back to living a healthier and fulfilling life – one with a very bright and hopeful future.
I hope by learning about my transplant journey, it showcases the miraculous transformation the gift of life has on the recipient’s life and the positive ripple affect it has on every life the recipient touches. I hope it encourages you to consider being a living donor and inspires you to register today to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.
You have the power to help save up to 8 lives by saying YES to organ donation.
